Treatments

We have experience of treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions and rather than just listing them, we find it works better if you talk to us about your particular problem so that we can work out the best care for you as an individual.

If you are not sure if you need to be seen, but just need some advice or reassurance we offer a free 15min online consultation, so we can work out if how we can help.

We specialise in not just getting people out of pain, or overcoming a problem, but in addressing the source so you don’t have to suffer again and you may find yourself moving more efficiently as a result! We aim to offer much more than a quick fix.

Whether it is a problem with nails, skin, pain, walking or running difficulties, or concerns related to specific conditions such as Diabetes, do call and we will find the right solution.

Custom Orthotics

The overall biomechanics of how we walk and move generally is dependent to a large extent upon the biomechanical health of our feet. Some of us are born with disadvantageous traits in our feet or they may become dysfunctional or weak due to injury, wear and tear, poor footwear, or simply aging. If you can improve your foot function then the rest of the body will also respond positively.

We have the advantage of modern footpad technology, where the feet are placed in silicone pads, adjusted to an ideal position by the podiatrist, and an impression is then produced. Heat mouldable insoles are then heated and placed in your unique impression to match the shape to produce comfortable insoles with appropriate correction.

Custom Orthotics Package – £197

We offer an in-house custom orthotic service enabling a quick turnaround and easy adjustment if required. The orthotic package includes the orthotics and 3 sessions:

  1. Moulding session to create idealised foot impressions, and make basic shape of orthotics.
  2. Collection of completed orthotics, with any adjustment for shoe accommodation and advice for adaptation.
  3. Review of performance; we need to know how you are progressing and whether any adjustments are necessary. This would typically be around 6 weeks after collection.

Foot treatments available include:

  • Athlete’s foot
  • Bunions

Nail Surgery

We can now address persistent, painful ingrown toenails by permanently removing the affected nail edge. The simple and highly effective procedure is undertaken using local anaesthesia. Contact us for further details.

ShockwaveTreatment

Shockwave Treatment

Acute and chronic injuries often need a “reset” before they can heal properly. Shockwave is a highly effective tool which sends a pulse into the tissues to promote pain relief and healing.

Clearanail System

Fungal nail infection (Onychomycosis) is a common problem that may take months or even years to heal with traditional methods of treatment. This new technology (if appropriate) enables us to safely make micro pathways through the nail plate and access the infected areas to apply topical anti-fungal solutions.

Looking for Opportunities!

Our expansion has meant that we are in need of an additional foot practitioner who can help us generally, but in particular to assist with the increasing demand that calls for knowledge of biomechanics and orthotics. We are particularly keen to work with an individual who is highly motivated to expand their skill set and be mentored by experienced staff at the clinic, to become an important member of our team. There is also a position for a more experienced Podiatrist or Foot Health Practitioner who can take on some of the work load of existing practitioners.

The premises at Phoenix House were converted for our purposes in December 2019 and boast pleasant, spacious clinic rooms with state of the art podiatry furniture and equipment. This includes, Sidas custom moulding station, Shockwave, Clearanail, Cryopen and a dedicated workshop for custom orthotics manufacture.

We work very much as a team, supporting each other in our work, and are always striving to improve the service we offer to our patients. If you would be interested to discuss what we could offer to you, please contact Geoff Boldero, or Kath Morrison info@stroudfootclinic.co.uk or 01453 706123
